NTsocial & NTsocial MeshLink
Terms of Use and Community Safety Agreement
Zero tolerance: We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. We commit to reviewing and taking moderation action on abuse reports within 24 hours of receipt, including removing violating content and ejecting or suspending offending users from services we operate.
1. Agreement, scope, and explicit consent
This agreement is between you and LiberaNt LLC ("we", "us") and applies to NTsocial, the separate NTsocial MeshLink app, their official community and communication services, and related website features (the "Services"). It covers posts, replies, channels, private messages, profiles, names, images, voice, files, radio messages, location and map objects, and other user-generated content.
You must read and explicitly accept these Terms, the Community Standards, and the applicable software license before registering, creating or restoring an identity, signing in, or first using communication features, including when no conventional account is required. Acceptance must be an affirmative action, such as selecting an unchecked agreement control and choosing Agree; merely opening the app, remaining silent, or a preselected control is insufficient. If you disagree, do not proceed or use those features. The Privacy Policy explains data handling; this agreement does not replace separate consent where required.
2. Free, open-source project and software licenses
NTsocial and NTsocial MeshLink are offered as free, fully open-source products with a non-profit product purpose. This does not mean LiberaNt LLC is a registered charity, waive our safety responsibilities, or guarantee free hardware, connectivity, or third-party services.
The license supplied with each repository, release, and component governs the software rights it grants, including rights to use, inspect, copy, modify, and redistribute. These Terms regulate conduct and access to our Services; they do not add restrictions to, revoke, or replace rights granted by an applicable open-source license, including any commercial-use rights. Project names and trademarks are separate from source-code rights. Third-party licenses and notices remain applicable.
3. Eligibility and identity security
The Services are not directed to children under 13. You must have legal capacity to agree, meet applicable local age requirements, and obtain a parent or guardian's permission where required. Follow applicable law and platform rules. Safeguard your device, identity, recovery words, and keys; do not impersonate others or disclose another person's secrets. We will never need your recovery phrase or private keys to handle a safety report.
4. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abuse
You must not create, post, transmit, solicit, promote, or knowingly redistribute:
- pornography, sexually explicit or obscene material, child sexual abuse or exploitation, grooming, sexual coercion, or non-consensual intimate content;
- threats, stalking, harassment, bullying, terrorist or violent incitement, graphic material intended to shock or harm, or encouragement of self-harm;
- hate speech or dehumanizing attacks based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or other protected characteristics;
- fraud, impersonation, spam, malware, credential theft, unlawful transactions, or unauthorized access or interference;
- content violating intellectual-property rights, privacy, confidentiality, or other rights, including unauthorized disclosure of personal information or precise location.
These rules apply equally to public and private communication and to Internet, nearby mesh, and radio routes. Encryption, pseudonyms, an offline connection, and the project's open-source or non-profit purpose do not excuse abuse. Do not evade moderation, filtering, blocks, or suspension by changing identities or routes.
5. Filtering and prevention
Our safety policy requires objectionable-content filtering before publication and appropriate receiving-side protections in official releases. Filtering may use local text rules, content screening, and moderation restrictions to prevent posting, hide, or remove prohibited material. It is not infallible and must be complemented by reporting, blocking, and human review. Do not bypass filters. A filter missing content does not make that content permitted.
6. Reporting content or users
Use the app's Report action on a message or user, or email contact@liber-ant.com with the subject "NTsocial safety report" and the product name. Where safe, include a message ID, sender fingerprint, approximate time, conversation or radio channel, reason, and a relevant excerpt or screenshot. Do not include unrelated private information, recovery words, or keys. Do not forward illegal material; provide identifying details instead.
A report must actually be sent to reach us. Preparing an email draft or opening a share sheet alone does not notify the developer. If a report cannot be sent in-app or you are offline, email it when connected. Our 24-hour response period starts when the report reaches our reporting channel. Reports are used for safety review as described in the Privacy Policy; confidentiality cannot prevent disclosures required by law.
7. Blocking and immediate local removal
You may block an abusive sender without waiting for our review. Our safety policy requires blocking to immediately remove or hide that sender's content from your feed, conversation, and relevant lists and prevent further interactions from that blocked identity on your device. Unblocking does not withdraw a submitted report.
Blocking for abuse must also notify the developer of the objectionable content or conduct through a safety report, with an explanation of the information sent. If offline, local blocking must take effect immediately while the notification waits for connectivity. If your release only prepares a report draft, you must send it or use the reporting email; an unsent draft is not developer notification. Removing a local copy is separate from a service moderation decision.
8. Action within 24 hours and enforcement
We will review and take necessary moderation action within 24 hours after receiving an abuse report. For confirmed violations, we will remove the offending content from our operated services and eject or suspend the offending user from those services. A credible serious-risk report may lead to immediate temporary content removal and suspension while investigation continues. An acknowledgement alone is not moderation action.
Depending on severity and repetition, measures include disabling publication or access, removing content, channel exclusion where we administer the channel, temporary suspension, permanent removal, and lawful referral to competent authorities. We may request more evidence, but that does not postpone necessary protective action beyond the 24-hour period. We will communicate the outcome to the reporter when contact details are available and disclosure is lawful. Appeals and additional evidence can be sent to the same email; an appeal does not automatically restore content or access. Deliberately false or retaliatory reports are prohibited.
9. Decentralized communication and moderation boundaries
Independent devices and third-party radio networks may hold, copy, or relay content. We cannot remotely erase every independently held copy, decrypt private conversations without access supplied by a participant, or disable all independently built clients. Blocking protects the blocking user's local experience; service suspension concerns access under our control. These technical limits do not waive our 24-hour moderation commitment for our Services. Preserve relevant identifiers and report abuse even if you have already hidden it locally.
10. Your content, privacy, and third parties
You keep your lawful rights in your content and must have permission to share it. You authorize only the processing reasonably needed for your selected communication features and safety enforcement. Public content may be viewed and copied by others; recipients can retain or disclose private content. Do not share information you cannot safely disclose. Personal data and reports are handled under the Privacy Policy, not a blanket right to inspect all encrypted traffic.
Follow applicable third-party, app-store, network, and radio-provider terms. When using LoRa or Meshtastic equipment, use the permitted region, frequencies, transmit power, and duty cycle and obtain required authorizations. Features vary by product, platform, release, and hardware; these Terms do not announce a product's availability on a particular platform.
11. Availability, support, and responsibility
The Services are provided as available and are not emergency services. We do not guarantee message delivery, range, uptime, identity recovery, or radio interoperability. Do not rely on them as your only means of emergency, medical, or life-critical communication. Contact local emergency services through an appropriate channel in immediate danger.
Contact us for support and complaints. Warranty exclusions and liability limitations in our Legal Notices apply only to the extent permitted by law and the applicable license. Nothing excludes non-waivable consumer rights, legally required support, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. A free product or volunteer contribution does not remove these obligations.
12. App Store license
For an app obtained through Apple's App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement applies unless the app provides a separate custom EULA. This community agreement supplements that license; it does not replace it or override mandatory platform terms or applicable open-source rights. LiberaNt LLC is responsible for its app and community services. Acceptance of this community agreement is required separately from the store's license acceptance.
13. Updates, termination, and related notices
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may restrict or terminate access to services we control for violations. Such action does not cancel rights independently granted by open-source licenses. Material changes to these Terms require renewed explicit acceptance before further use of the affected communication features. We will publish the updated date and version and provide notice as required by law.
Read these Terms with the Legal Notices, Privacy Policy, and Community Standards. If older wording differs on consent, community safety, reporting, response time, or open-source rights, this agreement controls those topics. Mandatory law, non-waivable consumer protections, applicable software licenses, and platform terms remain controlling. The Wyoming governing-law and dispute provisions of the Legal Notices apply subject to those protections. The three language versions express the same policy; no translation overrides mandatory local rights.
